Building smarter societies through the application of science & technology

The Smart Societies Institute is a non-profit organisation. In order for us to conduct our work we rely upon the hard work of our enthusiastic volunteers, members and the generous donations of our supporters.

If, like us, you believe that there are huge potential benefits in developing a Smart Society but that its needs careful consideration in terms of ethics, law, planning and oversight then please support us by becoming a member or making a small donation.

We have several membership levels suited to different needs and experience:

Fellow: Fellows are experts in their fields and form the basis of Institute. They write articles collaborate on research and actively engage in forums and conferences. Fellows will hold a PhD or will have at least 10 years professional experience. Applications will be judged by a panel on their individual merits. Fellow Membership Fee is £25 per annum.

Member: Member is the standard membership grade and is designed for people interested in Smart Societies but without the pre-requisite experience or academic qualifications. Members are entitled to attended and encouraged to take part in, forum and conference discussions. In collaboration with a Fellow they may be able to contribute to research dependent upon their experience. Member Membership Fee is £15 per annum.

Associate Member: Associate Member gives all the rights of a full Member but at a reduced cost. This is designed primarily for students with an interest in Smart Societies. Associate Member Membership Fee is £7 per annum.

Membership application is due to open shortly. If you are interested in joining then please contact us and we can add you to the waiting list.

Direct donations are also very welcome. Please email us at info@smartsocietiesinstitute.org to find out how to make a donation.
